Buttercup Bag

This will probably be the last time you'll hear from me for a few days, while I recoup from surgery, so I thought I'd go out on a high note.  I found the pattern for this bag yesterday and fell in love.  It's so cute and versatile.  I have a stack of fabric I could imagine as this purse.  This one, however, is for my niece, Laura.  Many thanks to Made by Rae, who graciously offers this pattern as a free download for personal use.

I followed the directions as written, for the most part.  I did add a layer of cotton batting, just sewing it with the lining piece.  My decorative button flap came out differently than the photo, but that could have been a mistake I made somewhere.  No harm, I still like it.  I found I needed to stretch the purse upper a bit to get it to fit to the purse bottom.  Also, on step 14, it says to turn the lining inside out, but what it seems to mean is to turn the purse right side out.  Other than those few things, it went pretty smoothly and was easy to put together.
