This owl fad has been rolling for quite a while now, which leads me to believe we might be close to moving on to something else. That’s not to say I’m happy about that, because I’ve come across some really cute owlish projects. But I’m afraid if I don’t share them now, I’ll lose the chance.
When I was a kid, my mom made some angels using hazelnuts, or filberts they were called back then, before they got all fancy. These Acorn Owls from Bloesem Kids remind me of them a little bit.
Again, loving the felt so I had to include Bugs and Fishes’ Felt Owl Brooches…
…and Margo is Crafty’s Owl Hairclip. Seriously, what is it about felt and owls that seems to go together?
This Owl Mug Cozy from Jessica Wilson on Craftzine is also felt. I need one of these. I must microwave the same cup of coffee about 10 times every day. I probably glow in the dark.
Ok, just to show you all my favorite owls aren’t made of felt, here’s one made from graham crackers. These Owl Smores from Living Locurto are too cute to eat.
If you’re like me and you still need a calendar for the newish year, you can choose from some gorgeous owl art and print your own Owl Lover 2011 Calendar at My Owl Barn.
I love this Owl Key Chain Holder from Craft Passion. You can pull the keys right up inside.
This clever re-do of a basic little camera pouch resulted in Edna the Owl Bag from LollyChops. I like that her face is on the flap.
This is my favorite owl pillow ever. I even love the name. The Give a Hoot pillow from Just Another Hang Up needs to come live at my house.
Like every worthwhile Friday, we’re ending it with a party. I know this Night Owl PJ Club Party from Jamie on Hostess with the Mostess is meant for little girls, but can’t I have one? I mean, look at that table…it’s a bed!
Somewhere today I saw the headline “Foxes – the New Owls.” Any guesses what the next animal of the moment will be?
