I love it and I’ve taken hundreds of photos with it. I even found a book that covers the exact model I have. However, I still don’t know what I’m doing.
I recently got to have a little fun with it though and I have two friends who helped me do that. Amanda is a professional photographer and Erika will be one day if she chooses (the talent is there). Amanda specializes in pregnancy and baby photos. You can find her at Amanda R. Thompson Photography. And you might remember Erika from her trick-or-treat bags last year.
We went on a little photograph safari and I got to play a bit. Honestly, it was the first time I’ve taken this baby out of automatic mode. It was scary and dangerous. And fun!
If you’re from Oregon, you’ve probably heard of the McMenamin brothers. They’ve brought their quirky style to restaurants and hotels all over the state, transforming properties thought to be lost causes into great places to visit. They have a location near us called Edgefield, which consists of restaurants, bars, a golf course, a spa, a brewery, a winery, a movie theater, a glass blowing shop and lots of beautiful gardens. We spent a couple of hours wandering around.
The gardens aren’t quite in their glory yet, but we found a few blooms and greenery.
The vegetable garden was just starting to sprout.
Even without many plants, there’s still plenty to look at.
I’ve still got a lot to learn, but I’m really enjoying getting there!
Hopefully we’ll be doing it again soon, this time driving up the Columbia River Gorge on the old highway toward Multnomah Falls. I can’t wait!
