With my daughter off learning how to navigate college and my husband gone for three months for specialized training on the other side of the country, I’ve had a little extra time on my hands to surf the net.  I came across something new this week that I’d like to share.  New to me, actually.  I’m not sure how long this website has been around, but so far I’m kinda in love.

SewSet Button

I saw this graphic in a couple of different places before I actually clicked on it.  For some reason, in my head SewSet was some tool or something that I was sure didn’t apply to me.  Finally, I had to know.  Turns out, it’s LOADED with patterns, some for a fee, but mostly free for the downloading.

I really like the way it’s set up.  A bit like the big “P” site that’s so popular right now.  It’s very simple to navigate, with basic categories and an effective search function.  You can view patterns by category, by designer (lots of familiar names there), by free or paid and you have the option of saving favorites.

As a designer, I also found it very painless to add my own patterns.  You’ll find about ten of my favorites up already.  If you’re looking for some project ideas I’d encourage you to check it out.  Just make sure you eventually leave and go make something!

*  Just to be clear, I’m not affiliated with SewSet, except that I have now contributed some of my designs.  I just think it’s a site worth exploring!
