Every year when St. Patrick’s Day rolls around, the rainbows start showing up. There was even one behind my house a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, it didn’t come with a Pin It button, so now it’s gone.
If I use the last viable bit of a piece of fabric, but there’s still a scrap left that measures at least a couple of inches in each direction, I stuff it into a box. My intention is to one day make a quilt from it using little squares, possibly in a rainbow. Every time I see something like this Rainbow Migrating Geese Quilt from Sew Create It I think of that box of scraps.
I think I mentioned my Mother of the Bride Diet recently. It’s pretty high tech. If I eat something, I count the calories (using an app), keeping my total under a designated number each day. I think I could work in this Rainbow Chicken Salad from Pinch of Yum.
These Rainbow Heart Transparencies from Twig and Toadstool would be a fun way to share a rainbow with the little ones.
I have to try this Rainbow Sandwich Bread from The Artistic Farmer. How fun would it be to make sandwiches with this?
This Rainbow Sunshine Plushie from Chez Beeper Bebe looks easy to make and would be a great gift for a new baby.
How cute are these edible Rainbow Cupcake Cups from Tablespoon? I had no idea it was that easy to make fondant!
This Rainbow Streamer Party Backdrop from Creative Juice would be great for a St. Patrick’s Day party, but would also work for a birthday or baby shower. How about a Wizard of Oz themed party?
This Origami Crane Mobile from A Piece of Kate’s would be pretty in a little girl’s room.
This Rainbow Stripe Crochet Blanket from The Crafty Mummy is just so bright and cheerful.
Here’s another recipe I’d be willing to fit into the calorie budget. The beauty of this Rainbow Veggie Flatbread Pizza from Gimme Some Oven is that if there’s a vegetable on it you don’t like, just replace it with another.
I hope you’re not tired of rainbows now, because all this is leading up to a project I’m going to share with you next week. Another hint…it’s coffee-sleeve-of-the-month time!
