A few nights ago, I had a dream that it was Christmas morning. The kids were still young. We all got up, ready to enjoy our day together, but I realized one thing immediately – I had completely forgotten about the stockings. It wasn’t even that I just forgot to fill them, I hadn’t even remembered to get anything to fill them with. The weird thing was, I was the only one upset by it. The kids said it was okay, let’s just open presents, but I was in tears. I’m pretty sure I had the dream because I was thinking about Easter. My daughter has moved on to start her own family, my son is a grown man and my husband isn’t much for the little details of holidays. If there were Easter baskets and colored eggs here, it would only be for me. But so what if I’m the only one who cares about such things? I enjoy it, and one thing the men in my house will tell you, everyone’s happier when I’m happy.
I always thought it was fun having one boy and one girl because I got to enjoy the cuteness when it came to clothes for either one. Easter clothes were especially fun. This Milk Maid Dress from Our Thrifty Ideas would have been perfect for my daughter.
And how adorable is this Baby Blazer from Shwin and Shwin for a little guy?
I’ve never decorated outdoors much for Easter because it’s usually raining here, but I think these Wooden Yard Carrots from –BALES- on Instructables are cute and probably wouldn’t mind a few raindrops.
Easter is always a good excuse for some yummy dessert, and the carrots in these Carrot Cake Cheesecake Crumble Bars from Wicked Good Kitchen make them fit right in.
You know I can’t resist anything that involves cookie dough. Eggs are the perfect shape for these Easter Egg Cookie Dough Truffles from Wine and Glue.
These Sparkling Surprise Carrot Cupcakes from Hostess with the Mostess really do have a cupcake inside! Smart idea.
I love that you could put treats inside this 3D Bunny Basket from Munchkin Munchies and then eat it when it’s empty.
Too much sugar? How about this Bunny Head Fresh Fruit Platter from Worth Pinning?
If you’d like to think a bit outside the traditional with your Easter decorating, check out these Easter Superheroes from A Hook Amigurumi. I want all of them!
I love the minimalist look of this Pine Cone Bunny from The Magic Onions.
