One of the most popular editions of Friday Favorites I’ve done to date was this time last year when I focused on creative ways to give graduates the gift of a fatter wallet. It seems like other people agree with my “cash is king” philosophy when it comes to giving to grads. Fortunately I didn’t use up all the creative ideas last year, so I’m back with more.
Most grads might not get all that excited about receiving socks (unless they’ve already realized how poor they’re about to be), but you can bet they’ll be pretty happy when it’s part of a Money Cupcake, like these from The Things I Treasure.
The adorable little hangers take these Origami Money Shirts from Dry as Toast up a notch. I love the hint that the graduate is going to be responsible for his or her own laundry. The tutorial is for the hangers and the link to the origami instructions seems to be broken, but I’ve used this one from Origami-Instructions many times.
This Dollar Bill Cake from Heathers Hobby on YouTube would make a great centerpiece for a graduation party – but you might want to consider hiring cake security.
This Money Dress from Blog Full of Joy is impressive. It would be perfect for someone entering design school or even just a dress-loving grad.
What do teens love to get as much as cash? Well, nothing probably, but they also sometimes really like candy, so this Graduation Gift Bottle Set from Busy Mom’s Helper is a good combination.
This Money Headband for Graduation from Big Ideas 3 actually looks really fun to make.
You might think you’d only find green cash in this Bowl Full of Greens from Darling Doodles, but I urge you to check out the tomatoes.
If you want a gift that would REALLY take some time for the recipient to open, try this water balloon idea from The Staus House. And throw down a towel.
This cash and gift card wreath from Savannah Smiled would be very easy to make, and a great group gift.
The thing I really love about these Money Graduation Caps from Pickles and Ice Cream is that they’re actual size!
