Yep, my birthday was this week. I celebrated with a trip to the fabric store, grocery store and Target while everyone else was at work. Yeah, I know how to party. We’ve had a lot going on lately, and Wednesday is kind of a crummy day for it, so I’m going to keep pretending it’s still my day through the weekend. Or until someone makes me stop. My husband, daughter and son-in-law built me a fire pit (hooray!), which I think I’ll break in with my husband and a bottle of something grown-up. This is the seventh year I’ve celebrated my name day (where are my Game of Thrones fans?) with a collection of not-necessarily crafty stuff, and it’s funny how I never have any problem filling it right up.
I have a tablet for doing some simple art on the computer, but I love the idea of this Sensu Brush. All of the fun of painting with none of the brush cleaning and ruined clothes afterward.
Those colorful freezer pops that you see everywhere this time of year were very popular with my kids when they were small. I don’t know if I want these Sunsella Silicone Popsicle Molds because I actually want to eat them, or if I just want to know they’re in my freezer when I miss my kids.
I am always cold. Always. This Bamboo Heaven Self Warming Blanket would get a LOT of use in my house. And maybe my car. And outside by my new fire pit. Just call me Linus.
Let’s just call this MTA Hairclip from Monkey Business a Swiss Army knife for your hair. I think this might be a perfect camping accessory.
I love the movie The Princess Bride, but I made the mistake of reading the book once. It’s horrible and depressing, and I think the author was trying to work through some stuff. However, I’d love to read As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride by none other than Wesley himself, Cary Elwes.
I love a good hand-lettered envelope, but it’s really difficult to keep everything straight. The Lettermate Envelope Addressing Stencil from The Grommet to the rescue.
I love books and superhero stuff pretty much equally, so I’m not sure why I don’t already own this Book and Hero Bookend from Artori Design.
I love the idea of creating a book from scratch, and this DIY Journal Kit from Bookshell on Etsy seems like a great way to give it a try.
I’d only need a few thousand dollars to complete the set, but at 7 x 4 feet this set of Fifty United Plates from Corbe would fit on my dining room table, and how amazing would that buffet be?
This might be the closest I’ve come to an actual cake for my birthday in a long time, but this Giant Layered Cookie Cake from Big Girls Small Kitchen looks pretty irresistible.
