A few weeks ago my daughter called and said she wanted us to schedule a girls’ day with just the two of us. We tossed around several ideas, and finally landed on driving the Hood River Fruit Loop, here in Oregon. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, I highly recommend it as a kick-off to the fall season. The landscape is absolutely gorgeous, and the fruit stands, wineries and shops are charming. We had some delicious barbeque for lunch, and an afternoon snack of a gluten-free brownie for my daughter and a peach empanada for me. The weather was perfect, and I don’t think there was a silent moment between us the entire trip. It was a very good day, and left me in an autumn mood.
If you’d like the look of fall without the crispy mess, try these No Sew Scrap Fabric Leaves from Orange Bettie
This Creamy Roasted Tomato Basil Soup from Café Delites sounds amazing, and the aroma from it will be floating through my kitchen as soon as I can get to the grocery store.
I love the fall colors in this Autumn Chalkboard Printable from I Should be Mopping the Floor.
These Harry Potter Inspired Pumpkin Pasties from PopSugar probably aren’t what you imagine. They’re savory instead of sweet!
I really want to make a Barn Quilt like this one from Flimsypi. I have a red barn, but I actually want to hang it on my front porch. Maybe I’ll start out with a Christmas version…
This Fall Sangria from Sweet and Savory looks beautiful, and I’m sure tastes just as good.
I did a double take when I saw these Paper Sunflowers from eHow. For a moment, I thought they were real!
We had a little bumper crop of apples this year, so I think these Cheesecake Stuffed Baked Apples from Le Crème de la Crumb are the perfect way to use some up.
One of my favorite fall fashions is a scarf. If you’re with me, you could convert one of those summer t-shirts into this Stenciled Infinity Scarf from Club Chica Circle.
I’m not ordinarily one for such a neutral pallet, but I think these Fall Accents from Tone on Tone are really beautiful.
