Cut fusible vinyl to fit the face, back of the head, ears, and the strip for the hanging loop. Apply as the package directs.
Sew one ear with an inner piece to one without, right sides together, leaving the straight edge open. Turn right side out. Do the same with the second set.
Fold the handing strip in half, wrong sides together and press. Fold the two edges to the center inside the first fold and press. Stitch close to the double folded edge.
Lay out the face, right side up. Using the pattern as a guide, put the ears on top, with the rounding part to the inside and the edges even with the sides of the head. Clip, rather than using pins, so you aren’t poking extra holes in the vinyl.
Place the two ends of the hanging loop at the top of the head, with the loop to the inside. Clip.
Lay the back of the head face down over the whole thing. Sew around with a 1/4” seam, leaving 3” open on one of the lower straight sides.
Turn right side out. Press carefully. Stitch around, close to the edge.
With the holes from the stitching, this won’t be waterproof, but I think they’re small enough it will survive this one season. I wish I could go see him on his tree!
