After spending entirely too much time working on computer stuff last week, I decided it was time to hit the sewing machine. Did you catch my new messenger bag pattern? I'm so happy with the way it turned out, and it was nice to sew something that I really needed. I like to make things just to see if I can, but there's something fulfilling about making something to solve a problem. In fact, if I'm going that route I could probably stay busy for a LONG time.

There are two reasons this quilt from Polkadot Chair caught my eye. The first is that red is my favorite color, and I love it even more when it's paired with white and black or grey. Second, any quilt that's made from one giant block seems like it would hold up to my attention span.

I don't know that I've ever had an authentic Boston Cream Pie, but I remember a little dessert that was served in my high school cafeteria that had the name slapped on it. It was delicious, by the way. I don't know which this cheesecake from Life, Love and Sugar is closer to, but I'd be happy to do some testing to find out.
Do you still have honest-to-goodness printed books? I find myself leaning hard toward reading e-books and listening to audio books, but I still like to have some of the real things in my house. I have a millennial daughter who refuses to take one step toward anything but a paper book. She's why I believe there's still a huge place in the world for this stamp from papersushi.
